Every year the seasons change, a new year comes, a birthday comes, every year Call of Duty comes out. This is already something inevitable. I don’t think anyone has any hopes that some fine year autumn will come and Call of Duty won’t be released. No, the publisher will not agree to this – Bobby Kotick needs a new yacht. But despite the fact that the “best-selling shooter” comes out every year, it takes three years to develop. This October we will be pleased with the Treyarch studio, which can add fun, exciting multiplayer to the story.
I have always liked the Black Ops subseries (and they love it in America, because each part gets significant pre-orders, since everyone trusts Treyarch) – cool plot, numbers, interesting characters, and in the second part there is even variability. But in the third part everything went wrong. This is probably what happens when you let a lore creator write a script in COD Zombies from Treyarch. A strange plot that was too wrapped up and could not be written properly; a future that many are sick of; jetpacks, without which there will be nowhere in the future. The company hit hard on my impressions – after it I just didn’t want to go into multiplayer, I wanted to delete the game and forget it like a bad dream. But people buy Call of Duty to play multiplayer, not for a six-hour shooting range. What we have… Online in Black Ops 3 is still high on consoles (no numbers, but TDM is normal and in hardcore, superiority, search and destroy, speaks for itself). Black Ops 3 is more difficult to play compared to WWII – more dynamics, different map designs, specialists make the game just fun. You can even use verticality to a minimum – jetpacks are absolutely optional, but thanks to them it’s convenient to jump away from grenades and get around enemies. I don’t want to say anything about the graphics, they’re normal. When I went into multiplayer to refresh my memory, I didn’t like how the game looked, but after spending a couple of hours in it I stopped noticing the graphics flaws. Behind all this crazy pace, you are absorbed in the gameplay – you simply don’t have time to look at anything, you need to drag the game. In Call of Duty the main thing is the gameplay, like in some fighting game. And this gameplay is still changing. Black Ops 3 plays differently than WWII, but Black Ops 4 will change everything again.
On the seventeenth of May this year, we were presented with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Everyone had different emotions, but I think most Russian gamers were perplexed. There is no company, Black Ops 3 multiplayer has been re-skinned, and the emphasis is now on zombie mode. All this upset me too. Especially the lack of a story company, because Treyarch produces an interesting story with a cool setting (except for Black Ops 3). It probably took two months for me to accept it. There is no company and it’s sad, but there won’t be hate for the game just because of the plot, and many gamers evaluate Call of Duty based on the plot, which is wrong. Call of Duty needs to be played in multiplayer, and not for a couple of hours. It may take a month of playing to form an opinion. Black Ops 3 and WWII were one-time companies, dull and uninteresting, but these games were revealed in multiplayer (the same can be said about Battlefield 1, which I also play). It’s interesting to kill enemies, grow above yourself, discover new weapons, new perks and operatives. Every round brings new sensations. This is not a primitive shooter, but a skill-dependent shooter, especially Black Ops 3, in which you need to think and calculate the situation much more than in any other Call of Duty.
This year you’ll see https://kingdomcasinouk.net/ a Call of Duty like you’ve never seen before. It has changed not graphically (maybe a little), but gameplay. What’s new in the multiplayer of the “best-selling shooter”? There are enough changes to not consider Black Ops 4 a reskin.
• The first thing I would like to notice is the change in the number of players in the squad – instead of the usual six, five. I think this will reduce the chaos on the map and bring some tact. From this I’m wondering how they will change the maps to scale;
• If previously you could meet three Ruiners (this is the name of the specialist, not your teammates, there will still be more than one Ruiner), now there will be one type of specialist per team;
• Speaking of operatives. The company will be replaced by specialist missions. These will include both familiar old ones from Black Ops 3 and new ones (which include MEDICA);
• No health regeneration. And health units are now not 100, but 150. Instead of regeneration there is self-healing. All operatives carry a healer with them and can heal after receiving damage. But you cannot heal and shoot at the same time, so you will need to choose – hide and heal or meet an enemy with incomplete health;
• Modules are unique for each weapon and affect its behavior; weapon recoil prediction;
• Despite the fact that the game is again in the future (the multiplayer takes place between Black Ops 2 and 3), there will be no jetpacks;
• It is no longer possible to see everything that is happening around on the radar – the developers have introduced “fog of war”. When moving, you can only observe what is happening within a certain radius;
• You can choose the respawn location;
• When using equipment (for example, a grenade), the barrel remains in the hand, which allows you to shoot back.
For the first time in Call of Duty there will be a Battle Royal (called Blackout). The map will consist of multiplayer maps (for example, Nuketown will be in the middle). It is not yet known how many people will be on the map, rumors say about 60. There will be a variety of equipment (helicopters, cars, etc.). You can also play as characters from the Black Ops universe.
In Zombie mode there will be 3 maps at release, instead of one. I’m not a professional in this mode and it didn’t last long for me. But the developers promise to make it more beginner-friendly this time, and it will also be possible to play it with computer partners. This mode is extremely popular in the West. It has intricate lore, characters, and complex Easter eggs that you can’t get through without guides.
This time a separate studio is working on the PC version – this is no longer a typical port from consoles. Also, there is no version for computers on Steam – only on Battle.net (don’t forget that the campaign calls Activision Blizzard). There is hope that this year we will get a playable version without flaws. Hit registration and stable FPS play a huge role in a multiplayer competitive shooter. Call of Duty is fine with this. It should be mentioned that this applies to console versions. PC always has problems. It was impossible to play Black Ops 3 on a computer for six months, if not more.
Black Ops 4 is a more competitive game that requires the support of teammates. Kolda goes into tactical shooter. But whether the players agree with this, only time will tell. I think many will continue to play lone wolf. A medic will appear in the game – there is already an addiction to him, because he can raise health to 200 units. Call of Duty for players has always been an entertaining shooter, where you are your own army, don’t care about your teammates, the main thing is CD. But thanks to all the changes in the gameplay, numerous team modes will reveal a new side. Call of Duty will be refreshed and will have more varied gameplay. There are enough modes and maps for everyone. The release will include 14 multiplayer maps, and there will be new modes.
This time Treyarch did not create anything radically new. They took their best multiplayer and changed it, polished it. The general appearance of the picture from Black Ops 3 has not changed – everything is just as colorful and fun, so one might think that Black Ops 4 is a lazy reskin, but everything turned out to be a little deeper. And so it is always with witchcraft – the first glance is not always correct. And even more so, Treyarch did not steal chips from either Rainbow Six Siege or Overwatch. All of these games are different in gameplay and dynamics, and operatives were still in Black Ops 3 (they probably picked up this feature from the first Destiny). You can find out whether all these changes will work for you in the beta, which will take place on August 3 (and will last until August 6) on PS4 and only for pre-order holders. The open beta for PC will take place on August 11th (and will last until the 13th).
